Managing Principal -
JJ Osoba is a Managing Principal at Stantec Consulting in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. He is responsible for sustaining and growing the Stantec Oil & Gas business in Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and New Brunswick. His focus is operational excellence and strategic development of growth opportunities in the Energy & Resources sector. He is keen on developing relationships that promote sustainable development of natural resources in Canada with long term viability.
JJ has held previous roles as Senior Project Manager and Lead Mechanical Engineer and has been a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) since 2005. He holds a BSc. in Mechanical Engineering Technology and MSc. in Engineering Management. With 18 years in the E&R sector, he has gained experience in different phases of engineering projects from concept development to design, fabrication, construction, commissioning, and operations. Throughout his career, JJ has been involved in upstream conventional oil & gas development, SAGD projects, compression & pipeline facilities, capital and maintenance projects at refineries and upgraders for major oil producing companies. JJ has managed and collaborated with design teams in Canada, United States, United Arab Emirates, Sultanate of Oman, Nigeria, New Zealand, Australia, Venezuela and India.
JJ and his wife relocated to Halifax from Calgary in April 2018 and are excited to experience the history and legacy of the communities in Nova Scotia and the Maritime provinces. Both have enjoyed many visits to Peggy’s Cove, and surrounding beaches as well as the Cabot Trail in Cape Breton. Their next adventure is planned for the beaches of PEI in 2020. In his spare time, he enjoys riding his Harley Davidson V-Rod Nightrod Special and the occasional competitive basketball game or Tennis match.
